Childhood cancer is a rare disease (1 in 10,000 cases)<\/strong>, which is why specialized expertise is concentrated in a small number of locations compared to the territory of Romania.\u00a0 There are 12 specialized units in pediatric onco-hematology, distributed in 8 counties out of the total of 42, sufficient for the number of cases in Romania. What is lacking are the specific local care services (close to their home) that children could benefit from.<\/span><\/p>\n

Returning home from the hospital should be a moment of joy, but it is a moment of panic for both families and doctors treating children with cancer, who face the lack of local monitoring services. <\/span><\/p>\n

Children wish to spend as much time as possible at home, in their community, where they feel the best and safest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

D\u0103ruie\u0219te Aripi Association proposes the development of a model of comprehensive medical care, outside these units, for continuous monitoring, at any moment of the illness, wherever the child may be.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This model includes two types of medical services provided to children throughout the entire treatment and across the country.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
