  • 10.000 children have taken part in the civic education program Yes, I can!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Launched in February 2018, \u201eYES, I Can!\u201d\u00a0is\u00a0our first\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span> educational project about social responsibility\u00a0addressed to children in Constan\u021ba.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u201e<\/span>This initiative bears the mark of our responsibility to convey important knowledge about social involvement towards the young generation. We believe that social responsibility can be learned and \u00a0children need to understand the role they play\u00a0in making\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>better<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em>\u00a0possible\u201d, says\u00a0 Alina\u00a0P\u0103tr\u0103h\u0103u, founder of D\u0103ruie\u0219te Aripi Association.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Why?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
      \n
    • The idea was born after many schools and kindergartens in Constanta have requested for\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>the children to be involved in various activities<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0to support the community.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • We are all born with compassion. However, as the years pass by, people stop getting involved in their community’s problems.\u00a0It is important to understand, from an early age, that\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>to give is so much more rewarding than to receive<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      What have we done?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
        \n
      • The first module was carried out during the 2017-2018 school year\u00a0and\u00a0it consisted of printing a book\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201eThe story of I can<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>!\u201d<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u2013\u00a0which we have distributed freely to children in their last year of kindergarten or primary school students. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • The book includes \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>an educational story<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> as well as several\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>interactive activities for children to play with their teachers and family<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0The children have discussed the subject at home, with their parents \u2013 a very good connecting exercise for the family.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • The story uses illustrations to present a real case<\/span><\/span><\/span>: two children born with health issues<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>, that do not receive the same care, being looked after in different cities \u2013 Bucure\u0219ti \u0219i Constan\u021ba.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>The solution is the project for the Reconstruction of the Intensive Care Neonatal Unit<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0of the Constanta Emergency County Hospital, with the help of the community in Constanta.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        How we did it?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
          \n
        • Launched in February 2018, the project benefits from the support of the Constanta County School Inspectorate and the implication of 36 schools in Constan\u021ba (state and private kindergartens and schools). Also, Ilustrart Association, Ana Maria Huzum and Adina Rosetti have taken part in the project development.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
        • \u201eThe Story of I Can!\u201d includes illustrations made by Daniela \u0218o\u0219a, Maria Surducan, Maria Cucu, Teodora Oprea, Ileana Surducan and J\u00f3zsef Vass.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Status of the project<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
            \n
          • The first module, dedicated to children between the ages of 5-10 years old,\u00a0was a real success with <\/span><\/span><\/span>10.000 students, 300 teachers and 93 educators from school units in Constanta<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • The next step is for the \u00a0\u201eYES, I CAN!\u201d\u00a0project to be developed in other cities in the country. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            The results<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
              \n
            • We think that children have the power to react positively to the problems around them\u00a0 and this power comes from growing empathy, compassion and the will to get involved.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
            • \u201eYES I CAN<\/span>!\u201d\u00a0is an experience that will continue throughout the first forming years (5-14 years old),at the end of which,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>children\u00a0will consolidate their feeling of social responsibility<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
