The Regional Center for Autoimmune-Autoinflammatory and Rare Diseases (CRBAAR) has officially opened within the Constanta County Hospital, serving over 300 patients monthly, both adults and children.

The center is equipped with modern tools, including a specialized ultrasound machine and a videocapillaroscope for evaluating capillary circulation, essential for diagnosing and monitoring conditions such as inflammatory arthritis, vasculitis, or Sjogren’s syndrome. Additionally, CRBAAR is part of the European EUSTAR program for monitoring systemic sclerosis and manages treatment for patients with systemic sclerosis and digital ulcers.

In the future, the center plans to expand its medical team and become a Center of Excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases, hemophilia, and autoinflammatory conditions. A major priority is the creation of a Regional Registry for Autoimmune and Rare Diseases, which will help improve the quality of medical care and foster collaboration with authorities to optimize patient care.

The center serves a wide range of patients, from those hospitalized with autoimmune conditions to those with hemophilia, offering complex consultations and monitoring to prevent complications and improve their quality of life.

CRBAAR is the fourth center nationwide, joining two in Bucharest and one in Cluj-Napoca, representing an important step in the early diagnosis and innovative treatment of autoimmune and rare diseases, already having a positive impact on the quality of life for patients in the region.
