CONCORD-4 Research

Romania has been invited to participate, for the first time, in the CONCORD programme for the global surveillance of trends in cancer survival, as a contribution to cancer control.

Dăruiește Aripi Association is honored to participate in this program, within the strategic partnership developed with the Romanian Society of Pediatric Onco-Hematology (SROHP).

CONCORD is an international research program funded by Cancer Research UK, the Institut National du Cancer (INCa, France), and other agencies. It is endorsed by the World Bank and the European Cancer Organisation.

Romania will submit data from the National Registry for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology (RNOHP) for the fourth cycle of the project, CONCORD-4.

Researchers will request, for the first time, data on all cancers in children (0-14 years), including tumours of benign or uncertain behaviour in the brain and the central nervous system (CNS).

They will examine global trends in survival for the 12 major groups of childhood cancer, to support the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer, in collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, USA.
